well, on the date of purchase, there was an offer on, that if you spent over £10, you got free delivery, and a free luxury gift, and i was due some make up anyway…
so this is what i got from the basics range..
lipstick in posh, brightening eye colour in drama, clear gloss eyelash and eyebrow mascara, shimmer eyeliner in twinkle teal, smudge brush, fan brush and defining crease brush.
the lipstick is a reddish-brown colour and has a lovely rich texture when on your lips. it looks really nice on, but you have to keep re applying it every five mins.
i’ve always been a big fan of these eyeshadow quads, as they’re a lovely pigmented product. the colours look really good together and from just this one quad, you can create a whole number of looks. the only downside to this this the packaging, it looks like ‘kiddie’ makeup and the applicator is way to small to be able to do anything with. overall, very pleased with this purchase.
i was recommended this product by a friend, and for £1.50, i thought i may as well give it a go. it’s just a clear gloss, that i use mainly for my eyebrows. it’s very nice, and its odourless. it helps to tame my brows when i feel that they’re becoming a bit unruly and i can’t be bothered to pluck them. very nice, and very pleased with this product.
The moment i saw this eyeliner, i fell in love. it’s a gorgeous teal colour, with an undertone of gold in the light. it’s well pigmented, and goes on very creamy. great to use as a base to put a similar colour eyeshadow on top of. my favourite product from the normal E.L.F range :)
The E.L.F essential brushes, i think, are perfect for someone who’s just starting to get into make up and are wanting a good quality set, that’s cheap. these brushes are silky and soft and have little fall out. they’re also good everyday brushes and are a good investment i think.
then from the studio line i got…
blush/bronzer contouring duo, blush in berry merry and the stipple brush.
the blush/bronze contouring duo is really pretty. it strongly puts me in the mindset of the orgasm/laguna duo by nars. the only thing i would say about this is that the bronzer is, in my opinion, too shimmery to be a contour colour, by all means, use it as a normal bronzer, it would look great, but as a contour, its just too shimmery. all in all, worth £3.50!
the blush in berry merry is a lovely dark rosy colour with a hint of gold shimmer in. this colour is SO SO SO gorgeous and winter-y, i love it. used it everyday since i bought it, and it’s just fab, great as a light wash for everyday, or you could go a bit heavy handed with it for a night out, it just looks amazing!
the studio stipple brush, upon opening, i was a little disappointed with, as the bristles were all out of shape it didn’t look round. HOWEVER, with a little reshaping from yours truly, it went back to it’s rounded-ness and is a great brush for the £3.50 i paid for it! it’s so soft, and lovely. the handle could be a little more on the heavier side, but apart from that, it’s a star buy!
THEN THE FREEBIES!
studio cream blush, studio matte lipcolour, shimmering eye pencil and gold sparkle nail polish.
this cream blush, is in flirt, a light, baby pink colour. it’s highly pigmented and reminds me a lot of the dream matte mousse by maybelline. it states on the box cream to powder, and it’s a more dry consistency that the likes of a MAC cream blush. not usually a colour i would go for, but hey, what can i argue about when it was free!?
the matte lip colour in praline was again, from e.l.f’s studio line, and i was pleasantly surprised with this turning up in my gift box. it’s a dark brown colour, with a matte finish. and looks lovely underneath collection 2000’s cream puff matte lip cream in powder puff. it’s very pigmented and goes on very creamy. the only think so far that i have found with this is that it dries out a lot and very quicly, so my suggestion would be to put on a lip moisturiser such as burts bees or a chap stick of some sort. on the whole, fab product!

as i have bought one of these eyeliners before, i know that they’re of a good quality, consistency and fabulous-ness! they go on really well, almost as if they’re a liquid, and come with a handy sharpener in the top! they’re really glittery and true to the word, a really pigmented purple shade!
this nail polish, in golden goddess is a lovely sparkly gold shade. the glitter comes in all shapes and sizes and it’s a lovely colour to have in any collection. dries relatively quickly and stays on forever!
thankyou for reading lovely’s, when i get new products this will be the format usually!
